Donate gently used children's books and help Free Book Fairs put them into the hands of children at Title 1 schools across our region.
Stay tuned — Book Drive 2027
Every child deserves access to books at home — books they can choose, treasure, and return to again and again. For many families at Title 1 schools, that simple opportunity is out of reach.
PVA's annual Book Drive helps change that. Pine View families donate gently used children's books — board books, picture books, chapter books, young adult novels — and PVA partners with Free Book Fairs to put them directly into the hands of children at Title 1 schools and Head Start centers across Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Drop-off details will be announced in January 2027.
Our partner
Free Book Fairs is a Sarasota nonprofit founded by PVA board members Shauna Wagner and Evan Morgan. It brings free book fairs to Title 1 schools that are unable to host traditional ones — so that every student walks home with books to begin building a library of their very own.
In its first year, Free Book Fairs reached Wilkinson and Tuttle Elementary. In 2025–2026, the program expanded to six Title 1 schools across Sarasota, giving thousands of children the chance to discover the joy of reading.
Volunteer
We need help sorting and organizing donated books, packing and transporting them to Free Book Fair's distribution location, and promoting the drive across the Pine View community.

Thank you — Book Drive 2026
Thank you to every Pine View family who donated to the 2026 Book Drive. Together we collected more than 5,000 children's books, and every one of them is going where it can do the most good — into the hands of children at Title 1 schools and Head Start centers across Sarasota and Manatee counties.
Many of the books you donated were recently distributed at Tuttle Elementary by our partner, Free Book Fairs — a Sarasota nonprofit founded by PVA board members Shauna Wagner and Evan Morgan. Free Book Fairs brings free book fairs to Title 1 schools that are unable to host traditional ones, so every student takes home books to begin a library of their very own.
We're especially excited to recognize our top elementary contributors: Freedman's Class for 2nd grade, Abeysekera's Class for 3rd grade, Patel's Class for 4th grade, and Hoffman's Class for 5th grade. These classes earned an ice cream party, and 4th grade also earned a pizza party for bringing in the most books overall.
A huge thank you to our elementary teachers for championing the drive in their classrooms, and to every Pine View family who helped put thousands of stories into the hands of young readers in our community.
