A year-round program where learning comes to life, rooted in curiosity and care.

About the Garden
The Pine View School Garden is a student-powered microfarm: students plant, maintain, harvest, and eat the produce they grow. Using organic and permaculture methods, the garden features a composting program, pollinator gardens, a succulent garden, a food forest, and seasonal annual crops — and there is even more to come in 2025/2026.
The garden is accessible during elementary and middle school recess, and the high school Garden Club meets there regularly. Teachers also use the garden as an on-campus field trip and a curriculum extension across grade levels.
Throughout the season, students take part in every step of the process — preparing the soil, planting seeds, caring for the beds, and watching their work grow. Harvest days are a special tradition, and the year-end garden party features chef-made foods from garden produce while students prepare the beds for summer recess.
This fall gardening season brought beautiful growth across the beds, and students were proud to see the results of their efforts. The garden continues to be a place where learning comes to life, rooted in curiosity and care.
Volunteer
The Garden runs because of volunteers — parents, students, and community members. No experience or "green thumb" required, and schedules are flexible. We need help with weekly maintenance, composting, plantings, and harvests.
We also gladly accept donations of used garden equipment, building supplies, plants, and seeds.
