Garden Committee

School supplies displayed atop a wood table

The PV Garden is a student-powered microfarm where students plant, maintain, harvest and eat the fruits of their labor. The Garden features a composting program,  pollinator gardens, succulent garden, food forest, and annual crops grown with organic and permaculture methods. There is even more to come in 2023/2024!

The Garden is accessible for all students during elementary and middle school student recess periods, for high school Garden Club, and for teachers to use as on-campus field trip and as an extension of teacher’s classroom curriculum. The year-end garden party features chef-made foods harvested from the garden while students prepare the garden for summer recess and another cycle of productive growing.

If you like spending time outdoors and engaging with students, please consider joining the Garden Committee. Volunteers do not need any garden experience or even a “green thumb” to participate. There are volunteer opportunities to fit most schedules.  We also accept donations of used garden equipment, building supplies, plants and seeds.

Please email Lesley Sachs at lesleybowlingsachs@gmail.com for more information. See you in the Garden!
